Vehicle data

When you look up a registration plate, we retrieve vehicle information (make, model, engine, fuel type, colour, MOT and tax status) from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History service — official government sources published for public use. This data describes the vehicle, not any person, and we process it on the basis of legitimate interest: providing the lookup you requested. We cache vehicle attributes for up to 30 days (status fields are refreshed within 24 hours) to keep the service fast, and registration numbers are never stored in our analytics. Vehicle pages are excluded from search engine indexing. If you are the keeper of a vehicle and would like its cached data removed, email hello@carxoxo.com.

Analytics

We measure how the site is used with a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) running on our own servers. It uses no cookies, collects no personal information, and your data is never shared with third-party analytics companies. We also keep anonymous, aggregate counts of searches and product clicks (for example, which parts are most popular) — these are never linked to you as an individual.
